RUTHERFORD, N.J., Oct 8, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Residents, Vendors, and Employees Collaboration and Control Improve with Self-Service
AXS-One Inc. (AMEX: AXO), a leading provider of e-business solutions, today announced that four local government councils in Australia have expanded the implementations of their AXS-One solutions, extending existing business and financial applications with collaborative commerce and business performance monitoring.
The latest implementations allow the councils to quickly leverage new technologies, such as Web services, XML, and more, to effectively address changing government needs and citizen demands.
The City of Darebin has upgraded its AXS-One(TM) Enterprise solution version 7.0 and launched a series of e-commerce applications, including an online community portal for residents and browser-based access to key internal systems for employees. The City concurrently added vendor self-service to its AXS-One implementation with AXS-One's TransAXS(R) Vendor application, offering direct access to supplier account information via the Internet. City personnel can now more easily locate invoice and payment data, while suppliers and other partners can log on to securely view their own account details.
The City of Darebin also deployed AXS-One's Expense and Payments Manager application to automate the entire expense cycle -- from invoices to approval to payment, enabling the City's finance group to better control and manage cash flow and control total spend.
The City of Greater Dandenong is leveraging AXS-One's enterprise report management solution to set up a powerful online information repository, providing City employees with 24/7 access to critical business information across the Internet. The repository provides residents and business partners with secure, self-service access to critical information as well.
City of Hobson's Bay licensed AXS-OneView to make statistical data stored on a range of different operating platforms available through a common, online portal. The AXS-One solution offers a convergence portal for users to quickly locate and retrieve critical analytical information from many applications, databases, or platforms from this single source. As a result, the City eliminated the need to replace its existing systems, or invest extensive time and money into building a comprehensive data warehouse. Employees access variance analysis, key performance indicators, and customer requests. The portal allows for the capability to drill down to supporting details such as purchase orders, general ledger transactions, payroll data, and more. Information can be viewed and shared in many formats.
Maroondah City Council recently upgraded its AXS-One Enterprise solutions to version 7.0, accessing new functionality, Web-based self-service, and expanded portability to a range of platforms, databases, and technologies, including Windows 2000, SQL 2000, XML, and more. Additionally, the City licensed AXS Desk(TM), AXS-One's Internet user interface solution, providing employees with online access to its internal financial system. By leveraging standard Web browsers, AXS Desk eliminates the traditional deployment costs associated with installing client software components on user desktops, with reduced maintenance and simplified training.
"AXS-One has provided proven solutions to help these local Australian governments streamline their business operations, so they can effectively run and support their cities. Government offices around the world are quickly realizing the value of leveraging the Internet to provide seamless information access to assist both their employees, and their citizens," said AXS-One Chief Executive Officer John Rade. "AXS-One can provide this capability to its customers, and we continuously offer new features and functionality to address changing needs. The fact that these four cities continue to expand their existing AXS-One implementations is truly a testament to the strength of our offering."
