RUTHERFORD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 10, 2003--AXS-One Inc.
Integration Offers a Centralized Solution to
Manage Data Across the Enterprise
AXS-One Inc. (AMEX: AXO), a leading provider of e-business
solutions, today announced it has completed the integration of its
AXSPoint(R) product line with EMC Corporation's Centera and Centera
Compliance Edition content addressed storage (CAS) systems.
With the added functionality of EMC's Centera, the AXSPoint
solution now enables users to more effectively control and deliver
fixed content deployed across the enterprise, and better leverage
this information to drive strategic business initiatives.
EMC Centera represents an entirely new software-driven storage
architecture specifically designed to address the unique information
storage requirements of fixed content. The AXSPoint solution
provides a range of tools for fast deployment of Internet
self-service solutions and E-Mail / Instant Messaging solutions for
compliance and archival, without requiring the need to alter
databases or revamp existing systems. Deployed in days and weeks,
versus months and years, these products are enabling organizations
to realize tangible returns on their technology investments.
"Our AXSPoint solution allows companies to immediately meet
information needs and allows their partners, customers, employees
and other stakeholders to query reports, web-based information, and
transaction details on a self-service basis and take action if
necessary," commented John Rade, President and Chief Executive
Officer of AXS-One. "By integrating with EMC Centera CAS solutions,
customers will be able to access fixed content faster and more
efficiently."
"As the world's first CAS solution, EMC Centera addresses the
unique requirements of managing fixed content," explained Roy
Sanford, EMC's Vice President of Content Addressed Storage. "Drawing
on Centera's ability to easily manage, protect and access fixed
content, the integrated AXS-One and EMC solution brings a new level
of value to AXSPoint solution users."
Once relegated to tape archives, optical disks, or file cabinets,
fixed content is now being driven online, fueled by regulatory
requirements, digitization of industries like healthcare and
financial services, and the desire to leverage this content into new
services and revenue streams. Just as the growth of applications
such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) and the explosion of the Web
drove the use of Network Attached Storage (NAS) as an enterprise
storage strategy, the need to manage, protect and access fixed
content is the driving force behind this new category of networked
storage.
Whether electronic business documents, X-Rays, or check images,
all types of fixed content have three common attributes: long-term
value to an organization, the need to remain unchanged, and
increased value through fast access with assured content integrity.
The EMC Centera network-based storage solution is designed to
deliver all three while economically scaling from multiple terabyte
to petabyte-sized environments.
