Council Decision Affirms AXS-One’s Strength in Victorian Local Government
Knox City Council re-evaluates its software options & re-selects AXS-One

SYDNEY, NSW – 6 August 2003.
AXS-One, a leading provider of e-Business solutions today announced the successful implementation of version 7 of the AXS-OneÒ Enterprise Financial solution at Knox City Council. This follows a total re-evaluation of Council's requirements and the options available to them.

Knox City Council had been an AXS-One Enterprise Financials client for a number of years. Due to changing Council needs, rapid technology changes and the desire to provide greater and more efficient services Knox elected to go to market to ensure that their requirements were being met with the best possible solution.

“We decided to assess all of the options that were available to us. So we put our systems including financial management out to tender. Once again, AXS-One came out on top. They're our chosen partner for the future,” said Helen Lanyon, director finance & governance, Knox City Council.

In late 2002, after a reappraisal of the market, a thorough evaluation and due diligence Knox City Council selected to go forward with AXS-One. The decision was driven by the key factors of company stability, customer relationship, product functionality and direction.

The implementation consisted of an upgrade to version 7, a change of platform from Sun Unix/Flat files to Windows 2000/SQL Server, a re-structure of the general ledger as well as implementing two new business process automation solutions; Expense Cycle Management (ECM) and Procurement Cycle Management (PCM). This whole process met the promised deadline going live in July, in less than 90 days.

“Having gone live on the stated date, we are very pleased that AXS-One has again lived up to their “on-time implementation” reputation. It has all gone smoothly with the added benefits of ECM and PCM already being realised,” added Ms Lanyon.

Commenting on the Knox decision Mr David Thompson, Vice President, Asia Pacific, AXS-One said, “Knox City Council is a valued client and the decision to move forward with AXS-One reinforces our strength and commitment to the local government market.”
